Moulton Windmill was officially opened by JT Biggadike III on Sunday 29th April 2012.
' Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has' - Margaret Mead
Many thanks to all those who braved the elements on Sunday , over 500 people attended the opening ceremony on a very wet and windy day.
Special thanks to Kirton Town Band who played on despite the conditions, and Nick from the Hogmaster for managing to feed the hungry masses.
The Piano Prof played in the granary tearooms and at one point led the sing - along, not forgetting Paul and Chris Dickinson of Spalding Folk Club who made sure that everyone had to suffer the speeches via their PA system.
We were very lucky to have so many direct descendents of previous owners and milling families associated with Moulton Windmill, not only JT but we had Robert King VII and VIII, also the Valentine's descendents of William Webb - the miller in 1894.
It was a very special day made all the better for seeing so many Friends of Moulton Windmill , who have helped to shape this project over the last 14 years and to remember some of those who were not lucky enough to see this special day. Everyone has played their part and to you all we give our humble thanks and appreciation for all your hard work and dedication to this building. It has shaped a community and thanks to you will survive for many more generations to come.
